What is a Color Run?
The Color Run, also known as the Happiest run/walk on the Planet, is inspired by the Hindu festival of Holia and is a unique event that celebrates healthiness, happiness, and individuality. The Color Run/Walk is 1 mile, untimed event. At each lap, Color Runners are doused from head to toe in a different colored powder. Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race plastered in color.

Is the color safe?
The Color Blast Dust is safe, non-toxic and completely washable! Our powder is a non-toxic, non-rash-inducing colored corn starch.

Key Information

CKLA Information Night

The Kingston City School District (KCSD) invites all families of students in grades K–4 to attend our upcoming Parent Night on Thursday, November 13, at John F. Kennedy Elementary School from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.

This engaging evening is designed to help families learn more about the Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curriculum and how it supports student learning. A panel of KCSD teachers will answer pre-determined questions and provide insight into how CKLA is structured and taught across grade levels, followed by a Q&A session for parents.

While parents participate in the session, students can enjoy a hands-on art activity connected to a current or recently completed CKLA unit. This activity will be led by JFK Principal Melissa Jamieson, along with other KCSD staff members.

Translation services will be available, and the event will be live streamed for families who cannot attend in person. Check back on the day of the event for the livestream link.

We look forward to connecting with our families and sharing more about the exciting learning happening in our classrooms every day!

Popcorn Friday!

Popcorn Friday!

Popcorn Friday is a great community-building event for our entire school. Kids love seeing the popcorn pop on Fridays! Seeing parents/guardians investing time in them and their school gives kids a wonderful sense of community.

We need volunteers to commit to whatever Fridays work for them by signing up in this Google form.
